RodBooks Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 10, 2026
RodBooks (“RodBooks”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the SaaS platform at rodbooks.com that helps Amazon KDP publishers research niches, generate puzzle and activity books, and produce print-ready PDFs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service:
- Account data - email, password (hashed), display name, avatar, country, and optional profile fields you provide.
- Authentication data - sign-in events, sessions, and device/browser metadata, processed by our authentication provider Supabase.
- Subscription & billing data - plan, billing cycle, status, and payment receipts. Card details are handled directly by our payment processor Polar; we never see or store your full card number.
- Tool usage data - credits consumed, books generated, requests to AI tools, and the inputs you send to those tools (e.g., niches, words, prompts).
- Generated content - puzzles, drafts, projects, templates, blog posts, support messages, and notification preferences you create or trigger.
- Affiliate & referral data - referral codes, clicks, and signups when you participate in the affiliate program.
- Diagnostics - error logs, IP address, page paths, and basic analytics needed to keep the platform stable and secure.
2. How we use your information
We use the data above to:
- Provide and run the RodBooks tools, dashboards, and account features.
- Process subscriptions, credits, and refunds via Polar.
- Track plan limits (credits per month, books per month, puzzles per book).
- Send transactional emails (account, billing, security, support replies) and in-app notifications.
- Improve our generators and AI tools, monitor abuse, and protect users.
- Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, fraud prevention).
3. AI tools and third-party models
Some RodBooks features (Niche Finder, Keyword Research, Title/Description Generators, Cover Blueprint, A+ Content Blueprint, Crossword photo import, etc.) call third-party AI providers on your behalf. The text or images you submit to those tools are sent to the provider only to generate your result. We do not sell your inputs, and we do not use your prompts to train external models.
4. Sub-processors we rely on
- Supabase - database, authentication, storage, and edge functions.
- Polar - subscription billing, checkout, invoices, and customer portal.
- AI providers - selected per-tool to power AI features.
- Email provider - to deliver transactional and support email.
Each sub-processor is bound by their own terms and privacy policies, and only receives the data needed to perform their function.
5. Data retention
We keep your account, generated content, and usage logs for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request erasure, we remove or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records (for example billing data needed for tax compliance).
6. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS, stored in managed infrastructure with encryption at rest, and protected by row-level security on our database. Admin access is limited and audited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA). You can manage most of this directly from your account settings, or contact us at support@rodbooks.com.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (theme, billing cycle, last visited tool), and attribute affiliate referrals. You can clear these at any time in your browser.
9. Children
RodBooks is built for self-publishers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please email us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our product or legal obligations change. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect.
11. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints? Email us at support@rodbooks.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
